The Football Spring Classic Celebration
Join the Grand Valley State University Football Program for the 17th annual Spring Classic on April 14, 2012. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. with the spring game kickoff at Houseman Field and continues with a post-game celebration and raffle at the Eberhard Center at 7:30 p.m. Meet Laker Football Head Coach Matt Mitchell and the rest of the Laker coaching staff.
Help New Graduates at the Spring GradFest
Welcome the newest graduates to the alumni community during this year’s Spring GradFest April 16-19, 2012. The festivities are held at both the Allendale and Pew Campus. Alumni volunteers are needed to assist the new grads with commencement necessities and information about the perks that come with alumni membership.

Florida Alumni to Root for the Tigers at Spring Training
Spring Training is underway in Florida! Tampa Club Leader Tara Crow, 97 invites alumni and friends to Joker Marchant Stadium to watch the Tiger’s go head to head with the New York Yankees on March 24, 2012.
Get your fill of hotdogs at the all-you-can-eat ballpark lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Then watch the game from the reserved alumni seats along the left field line. The game starts at 1:05 p.m.

NYC Alumni Outing at Yankee Stadium
If you missed the brunch event in February or had so much fun you can’t wait to get together again, NYC Alumni Club Leader Darryl Nicholson, ’08 is hosting an event at Yankee Stadium for all NYC alums and their family and friends on May 10, 2012. Enjoy a pre-game luncheon with fellow Lakers at 5:05 p.m. then watch the Yankees take on the Tampa Bay Rays at 7:05 p.m.

Alumni Club Leaders Brian Dutkiewicz, '02 and Rachel Vanderwiel,'09, along with Lisa Davis, ’06, invite you to an evening that’s right up your alley. Join fellow Lakers at the Lucky Strike on May 24, 2012 for networking, socializing, and bowling.
The event will include games, shoe rental, and a heavy appetizer buffet. Prizes will be given to the best bowlers, those with the most Laker spirit, and attendees that can answer current GVSU trivia.
Brunch in the Big Apple Brings out Recent Grads
Krista Hillman, '05, MIke Schulz, '11, and Angela Antoino, '11 (pictured right) enjoyed brunch and sangria with fellow GVSU alums at the New York City Alumni Club event at Calle Ocho located inside the Exelsior Hotel in Manhattan. GVSU's most recent accountability report was a hot topic of discussion.
The next New York Alumni Club event is a Yankees game scheduled for May 10, 2012.
GVSU Football Fan Trip to Oregon
Attention football fans! The Alumni Association invites you to live it up Laker-style at this year’s Laker football fan trip to Oregon August 30-September 2, 2012. The trip includes airfare, ground transportation, hotel, wine tour, tailgater, and a game day football ticket.

First Women's Lacrosse Game At GVSU
Grand Valley State University will host its first varsity women’s lacrosse game in history on March 16, 2012. The game will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the brand new Lacrosse Complex located beyond the Laker Soccer Field.

Graduate Showcase 2012
Join the Office of Graduate Studies and the Center for Scholarly and Creative Excellence for the Graduate Showcase 2012 on April 10, 2012. The event will start at 3:30 p.m. in the Loosemore Auditorium on the downtown Pew Campus.
The Graduate Showcase highlights and awards the outstanding graduate students and the research conducted by them and their mentors.
The Grand Valley State University Women’s Center invites you to Ready to Run on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This all-day campaign training program prepares and educates women who want to engage more in their government and run for office. Learn how to fundraise, use the media, and develop key campaign strategies.
Admission includes breakfast and lunch. Register by April 1, 2012 to receive a discounted rate. There are also a limited number of scholarship opportunities for those who qualify.
Voices of GVSU Celebrates 25 Years
The Voices of GVSU will gather this April to mark their 25th anniversary of making music. The weekend of activities includes: April 20, 2012 at 7 p.m. “In the Fellowship” in the Grand River Room; April 21, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. “Morning Glory” Breakfast in the Alumni House; April 21, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. “Family Reunion Concert” at Allendale High School Performing Arts Center; and April 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. “Another Day of Thanks” at Lighthouse Full Life Center Church.
